  Impact of Environmental Pollution on the Residents of Sharada from Tannery Industries, Kano, Northwestern Nigeria

  Environmental pollution has become a worldwide challenge due to industrialisation and anthropogenic activities. Industrial effluents cause a wide scope of environmental problems with health hazards and these challenges are more complex and critical now than before, in developing countries like Nigeria. This study assessed the impact of environmental pollution and determined levels of heavy metals (HMs) in the effluents from tannery industries in Sharada phase I and II. The data used include laboratory test’s results to determine heavy metals (Cd, Cr, Cu, Pb, Zn, Ni, Mn, Fe), Electrical Conductivity (EC) and Total Dissolved Solid (TDS) from industrial effluents.
